A practice that works hard all day.

By closing time a veterinary clinic has seen muddy paws at the door, a nervous dog or two on the scale, cat carriers set on every bench and a steady run of people through the front counter. Pet owners judge the practice on what they see and smell in the first minute: a fresh lobby, a clear counter, glass doors without nose prints. Your team is busy caring for patients, so the building should not be one more job at the end of a long shift.

Arbor writes a plan around how your clinic is laid out and how its rooms are used. The walkthrough covers every room with your practice manager, from the reception area to the treatment floor, and the tasks, frequency and price arrive in writing before the first night.

Reception, scale and waiting area.

The waiting area takes the most traffic and the most hair. Benches and chairs are wiped seat and frame, the scale platform cleaned, the front counter and payment pad wiped and the retail shelves dusted. Entry glass is cleaned on both sides, low enough to catch the marks left at a dog’s eye level, and door pulls and push plates are cleaned on every visit.

Floors here get swept with care for the hair that gathers along baseboards and under seating, then mopped edge to edge. Mats at the door are vacuumed, and the corners behind the door are done as carefully as the middle of the room, so the room smells clean when the first client walks in the next morning.

Exam rooms and procedure rooms.

Exam rooms are cleaned to the practice’s protocol, in the order your team sets. The crew works from the exam table outward to counters, sink, cabinet pulls, switches and the door, then finishes with the floor. Disinfectants are EPA-registered, and each one is left wet for the whole dwell time its label lists, which is often the step that gets cut short in a rushed day.

Procedure and surgery rooms follow your written steps as well, and a full terminal cleaning can be booked whenever your schedule calls for one. Each crew member is trained in HIPAA-aware conduct and bloodborne-pathogen safety, so charts, client files and screens are left where they sit. Supervisors check these rooms on their quality inspections and go over any protocol change with the crew.

Wards, kennels and treatment areas.

The back of the clinic is where cleaning has the most to do. Treatment area counters and floors are cleaned, kennel fronts and door latches wiped, and the walls and baseboards along wards and boarding runs washed where splashes collect. Your staff let the crew know which runs are empty, and floor drains in those rooms are cleared of hair and rinsed.

Grooming tubs, bathing stations and wash-down corners get their surrounds and floors cleaned on the schedule in your plan. Grooming rooms in particular gather fine hair on every ledge, so high and low surfaces there are wiped rather than only swept.

Staff rooms and offices.

Technicians, assistants and doctors need a clean place to sit down too. Break rooms are wiped from tables to the refrigerator and microwave handles, staff restrooms cleaned and restocked, and offices dusted with bins emptied. Paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper and liners are restocked from your own stock or supplied through our janitorial supplies program.

Vinyl tile in hallways and treatment rooms dulls quickly under carts and claws. Our commercial floor care crew strips the worn finish and lays down fresh coats, scheduled for a Sunday or holiday so appointments are never moved.

Clinics around Sonoma County and the Valley.

Our area holds every kind of practice. Sonoma County has small-animal clinics in town centers from Santa Rosa to Petaluma and Healdsburg, plus mixed practices out among the vineyards and ranch land. The Sacramento and Stockton areas add larger animal hospitals with overnight wards, emergency and specialty practices, and neighborhood clinics in strip centers along busy corridors.

Each one gets the same free walkthrough and a written plan built for its rooms, whether it has two exam rooms or twenty. A clinic moving into a remodeled suite can start with a post-construction cleaning that clears builder dust from cabinets, vents and kennel fronts, and the nightly plan takes over from the first day the doors open.

Scheduling and price.

Cleaning usually begins once the final patient has gone home, and practices with overnight care are cleaned in a planned order that keeps the crew out of the way of staff on duty. The price comes from the number of exam and procedure rooms, the size of the wards and boarding areas, the nights per week on the plan, terminal cleaning bookings and any floor work. Busy practices often add a day porter who freshens the waiting room and restrooms during the midday lull.

A few useful answers

Common questions

We have a written infection-control routine. Will the crew use it?

Yes. Your protocol becomes part of the written plan, room by room, and the crew walks through it with your practice manager before the first visit.

What do you disinfect exam tables and counters with?

EPA-registered disinfectants, each staying wet through the full contact time its label sets. If your practice prefers a specific product, the crew uses that one.

Do you clean surgery or procedure rooms?

Yes. Procedure rooms are cleaned to the practice’s protocol, and terminal cleaning can be booked as often as your schedule needs.

We board animals overnight. Can you still clean at night?

Yes. The plan sets the order of rooms and the quietest window for wards, and the crew works with whoever is on duty that night.

How does pricing work for a veterinary clinic?

We walk the clinic with you, count the rooms and set the frequency, then send a written plan and quote. Room count, ward size and nights per week drive the price.
